Indian Institute Of Technology, Delhi Presents
Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring of Superstructures & Substructures
Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring of Superstructures & Substructures
(Deep Foundations) through modern instrumentation
Date :11th September, 2013
Time : 9:30 am to 6:00 pm
Date :11th September, 2013
Time : 9:30 am to 6:00 pm
How this workshop is helpful ?
This workshop will act as a forum for disseminating recent technological advancements in the fields of superstructure and substructure testing through modern instrumentation. It will help in making the professionals and practicing engineers to become aware of the principles, necessary know-how and potential application of these smart materials & various substructure testing instruments.
Who Should Attend ?
Research students, Geotechnical & Structural Engineers, Opinion Leaders & Opinion Makers from Civil & Geotechnical Engg. field, Academicians & Professors, civil contractors & other professionals involved in the design, construction and specification of superstructures & deep foundations.
WORKSHOP CONTENT ?
This workshop has been designed to cover the basic concepts and application of Structural Health Monitoring(SHM) based on the principles of structural dynamics with the aid of smart materials. The speakers will cover a detailed introduction about structural dynamics, available sensor technologies (accelerometers, strain gauges, piezo - transducers etc). Also technological advancements related to testing of substructures like pile foundations will be covered which includes the know-how of pile
testing instruments like pile integrity tester, pile driving analyzer, thermal integrity profiler and associated analysis softwares like PIT-W, CAPWAP, GRLWEAP etc. Deteriorating/untested/improperly designed or monitored structure or substructures can have serious implications on safety and performance. SHM and pile foundation testing instruments enables prompt identification and localization of damage before it attains serious level.
