Ultralow Power Flexible Electronics Lecture organised by IIM(BC) & IiSc Bangalore India Name of Speaker & Affiliation: Prof Arokia Nathan, Darwin College, University of Cambridge Title : Ultralow Power Flexible Electronics Date & Time : 08.06.2022 (Wednesday); 04:00 pm Venue : KPA Auditorium, Dept. of Materials Engineering, IISc, Bangalore, India   Lecture Abstract: A key design consideration in flexible electronics, particularly for wearables and sensing applications, is low voltage, low power operation. This requirement not only serves to maximise battery lifetime but crucially ensures operational stability of thin film transistor (TFT) circuits and systems. Ultralow voltage/current operation is especially important in sensor interfaces so as to achieve a high resolution of the sensory signal. This presentation will review the TFT design and materials selection strategies for ultralow power operation. We examine the main issues that lead to a high operating voltage of t

John Abraham Muliyil Memorial Lecture Sponsored by Members of his family, Mangalore & Mr. S. V. Sambamurti, Bangalore     To stimulate aspirant engineers interested in welding and allied processes, the John A. Muliyil Memorial Lecture Award will be given to a young professional below 35-years of age, who has presented his paper during the National Welding Meet of the Institute on welding technology or a related subject (in alternate years). His/her work (theses, research reports, state-of-the-art surveys) must be authored by one person only and based on recent work carried out in an industry.   Mr. Muliyil’s entry into the field of welding was in 1947 when, after his graduation and a short stint in the Indian army, he joined Indian Oxygen Ltd., the pioneers in welding inIndia . After intensive training in the art and science of welding, he was part of a team entrusted with the task of helping the fabrication and engineering industry in Indi
