Seminar on Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing in Design through Manufacturing, 9th-11th November 2009, Hotel Kalasagar, Pimpri, Pune

Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) system eliminates ambiguities in engineering drawings and brings out the designer’s intent very clearly. It ensures seamless communication between design, engineering, manufacturing and quality teams across the entire organization enabling them working in a concurrent engineering environment.

In the competitive industrial scenario prevailing today, proper application of GD&T system helps the companies to reduce the manufacturing and inspection costs.

This seminar will focus on understanding the system of GD&T and the methods of applying it in real time designs. The seminar sessions will be supported with case studies, examples and exercises.

Course Objectives

To impart thorough knowledge in

* ISO system of fits and tolerances

* Calculation of allowances – clearance and interference

* Preferred series of fits for industrial applications

* General tolerance levels in manufacturing processes

* Definition of GD&a…

RDCIS to develop low weight steel cylinder - Metallurgy Developments in India

RDCIS Ranchi is developing a low weight steel cylinder. The company is working on a plan to develop boron steel, which can be used by oil companies for filling up LPG. The company is going to approach the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for revised specifications regarding use of steel in LPG Cylinders. It can be used in other items too. The weight of the existing empty cylinder is 15-16kg. but the cylinder made with boron will be much lighter and economical.

Careers/jobs and opportunities in Nondestructive Testing NDT - Bangalore India

Nondestructive testing - NDT is a growing, high tech, exciting career field, filled with opportunities and that too are increasing day by day.

Nondestructive Evalutation or NDT is vital for constructing and maintaining all types of components and structures. To detect different defects such as cracking and corrosion, there are different methods of testing available, such as X-ray (where cracks show up on the film) and ultrasonic testing/Ultrasonic Flaw Detection called as UT, Magnetic Particle testing called as MPT or MPI, Liquid/dye penetrant testing called as DPT/DPI.

This article is aimed mainly at industrial NDT, but many of the methods described here can be used to test the human body. In fact methods from the medical field have often been adapted for industrial use, as was the case with Phased array ultrasonics and Computed radiography.

Ultrasonic testing level I 1 Level 2 II course India

This Ultrasonic testing course is one in a series of short term, high impact courses that concentrate on the needs of those who have the responsibility to recognize good versus poor performance produced by those that perform Nondestructive Testing (NDT). Since the various methods used in NDT are not typically within the core competency of many who manage the process, these courses provide immediate insight and instruction to analyse the results in a more efficient manner. Our training course on ultrasonic testing, after successful examination as per SNT-TC- 1A leads to Level I and Level II.

All the NDT Courses can be tailor made according to the requirement of the customers.Depending on availability of candidates for the training course, the course are being conducted at Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, vizag and many cities across India.for more details visit the website:

Nondestructive testing NDT services,Bangalore,india

Getting quality testing services is a complicated exercise. Test results many times depends on the Integrity of the testing personnel and the organization performing the functions. Getting / assigning any quality control test is now a days very easy. But assuring the results reliability is still a question in the customers. This may be a chemical analysis test, metallurgical tests, mechanical tests or even nondestructive tests (NDT)/ inspection.

Particularly in NDT,for many NDT Inspection tests like ultrasonic testing (flaw detection / thickness gauging), Magnetic particle inspection, Liquid penetrant testing, Dye penetrant testing (DPT) permanent records are not reliable and maynot be correlated with the part tested. Here testing personnel proficiency and integrity plays vital role in taking critical decisions.

Phased Array Advanced Ultrasonic Flaw Detection - Advantages of Phased array Technique

1) With phased array Ultrasonic testing you have an image to interpret rather than an A-scan.
2) Phased array Ultrasonic testing interrogates the part under inspection with a multitude of inspection angles. With single element you have a fixed refracted angle in the part and whatever beam divergence you have relative to the acoustic element characteristics.
3) Phased array Ultrasonic testing provides the ability to electronically steer, scan, and focus the ultrasonic beam. Since this possible, many inspections become easier and less time consuming (i.e. scan time reduction).
4) Phased array Ultrasonic testing provides the ability to cover more area with the detectability of a probe with smaller elements. Consider the reduced sensitivity to small defects you see when using large single element or paintbrush probes. Phased array elements are typically very small in comparison and therefore increased sensitivity for detecting small defects.

Bottom line, phased array Ultrasonic testing is…
