RDCIS to develop low weight steel cylinder - Metallurgy Developments in India

RDCIS Ranchi is developing a low weight steel cylinder. The company is working on a plan to develop boron steel, which can be used by oil companies for filling up LPG. The company is going to approach the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for revised specifications regarding use of steel in LPG Cylinders. It can be used in other items too. The weight of the existing empty cylinder is 15-16kg. but the cylinder made with boron will be much lighter and economical.
