 About the Conference

NDT & E in Dialogue and Application

Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai, India has placed an increasing attention on Non-Destructive Testing and Evaluation (NDT & E) over the past years. In this context, it established an NDT laboratory named after Dr. Baldev Raj, one of the pioneers of NDT in India, and got NDT spread into the curricula of various of its departments.

What Vel Tech intends now is to establish a dialogue with industries and research institutions from outside of its premises to further explore and establish collaborations that allow NDT & E to find a multitude of applications. As such, NDA-VT 2026 invites researchers, academicians, industry professionals, and students to present their work and products or to simply attend and to get this discussed in view of future applications.

Besides oral presentations, the event will also include an exhibition, technology demonstrations, discussion forum and networking opportunities. Students will be given an opportunity to present their work as well and to experience challenges NDT & E technologies are in.

Honoring a Legacy

The Event also honours the legacy and visionary contributions of Dr. Baldev Raj to science, technology, and NDT. Dr. Baldev Raj was a Former Distinguished Scientist, DRDO & Pioneer in NDT, and this conference commemorates his birth anniversary.

Delegates will have full access to the event, including the opportunity to present papers during technical sessions. All registered delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance. Additionally, delegates will be entitled to receive a Kit with proceedings, lunch and technical visits to NDT Lab.

Parties being interested to make an oral presentation, show a poster and/or open an exhibition booth are welcome to submit an abstract of no more than 300 words by March 15, 2026.

  Summary of Major Changes in ASNT Recommended Practice SNT TC 1A 2024 edition Recently ASNT has released 2024 edition of SNT TC 1A - Personnel Qualification and Certification in Nondestructive testing .  Following are the summary of major changes when compared to previous editions 2020. Paragraph 1.5 was removed. Paragraphs 2.1.7 and 2.1.11 were updated to better define the terms “Detection Rate” and “False Call” to ensure their precise application. Paragraphs 2.1.15 and 2.1.18 were revised to further elucidate the term “Predictive Maintenance”.
