JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:	Asst. Manager NDT – Quality Assurance

JOB STATEMENT

Perform and Witness NDT inspection of Metso products from incoming materials to finished products including welds, castings and forgings, at supplier sites. Attend instruction in various disciplines such as AWS, ASME welding inspection and NDTwith respect to AWS, ASME, EN(preferable) 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      Perform & Witness the NDT/Visual inspection of all incoming material – castings,              forgings and fabricated structures with machining.

·        Preparation and Validation of NDT scan plans.

• ·        Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment.
• ·        Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection.
• ·        Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under NDT & Visual inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
• ·        Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
• ·        Organize and report test results.
• ·        Perform specialized inspections.

·      Witness that NDE inspection is performed in accordance with specs

·  Hands on experience of UT, MPI, DP, RT of welding, castings, forgings and plates as applicable.

·        Responsible for Quality standards of castings, forgings and fabricated structures for NDT.

·        Training suppliers teams for NDT.

•                  Support the following staff with the dissemination of information

-        Partners

-    Metso Minerals organisation, purchasing, engineering, quality

-     Project Managers

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

·        Degree/Diploma/ITI with Level 3 certification in UT, MT and Level 2 in PT & RT(pref)

·        PCN Certification, PAUT would be an advantage.

·        Minimum 10 to 12 years of experience in NDT of heavy Casting/Forging, heavy fabrication.

·        Ability to read drawings and interpret Codes & Specifications is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

·        Proficiency in MS Office.

·        Knowledge of parts/materials used within the mining, steel and allied industries.

·        Highly motivated individual with good communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Ultrasonic Testing Inspection of welding, casting, forging, plates etc., Dye Penetrant testing, Magnetic particle inspection, X-ray Radiography RT testing of welds castings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will predominately require extensive travel to vendors and stay.
