Composite Materials Ultrasonic testing Inspection - Trinity NDT Bangalore India

Composite Materials Ultrasonic testing Inspection - Trinity NDT Bangalore India

Composite materials are emerging as preferred choice and replaced many conventional materials especially for Aerospace applications. Testing of composite materials is a challenge for material testing and Nondestructive testing - NDT Inspection engineers. As the structure is heterogeneous its quite difficult to use conventional NDT methods/techniques and conventional Ultrasonic testing procedures on Composite materials. However recent developments in NDT and particularly in Ultrasonic inspections, dry scan tests are increasing becoming common to evaluate the quality of bonds in composite materials for Aerospace applications. Scans are dry and hence there is No harm for composite materials from using harmful industrial couplants. The most common defect that can occur in any composite structure is disbond. Ultrasonic inspection - Through transmission technique is an effective means evaluating/inspecting aircraft composite structures.

Trinity NDT Labs are accredited to NABL ISO17025:2005. Facilities are approved by numerous aerospace manufacturing companies for testing airborne structures. Presently the facility is equipped with latest equipments on Ultrasonic testing, Fluorescent penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing and eddy current inspections that can meet Aerospace Standard requirements.
