About the Course

The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW), a representative body of professional welding engineers in India, is involved in the advancement of welding science and technology within the country by disseminating development and knowledge in the field of welding and allied technology through seminars, workshops training programs etc., providing technical guidance and consultation to industries in welding, conducting associate membership examination and awarding diploma and certificates to members and publishing technical journals and periodicals in the field of welding. The IIW has been recognized as an Authorized National Body (ANB) to carry out certification programsof the International Institute of Welding.

Welding plays a key role in every manufacturing process in a wide range of industries. To sustain in the global competition, industries are looking for enhancing the quality of their product. One of the ways of enhancing quality is by improving the practical and theoretical skill of welders. The situation today is there is a lack of quality manpower. The IIW has realized this acute problem and has encouraged its Branches to conduct courses and training programs for welders in their native language. As a part of this exercise, the Bangalore Branch of the IIW has decided to conduct a one day Welding Course in Kannada. This Course is intended to bridge the gap between the skill and theoretical knowledge of the welder. The course intends to educate and refresh the knowledge of welders on a number of issues such as guidelines in selection of welding process and electrodes, developments in power sources and welding safety.

There will be invited lectures by eminent people from research and educational institutions and industries on
1. Conventional and advanced welding processes
2. Welding power source and Welding Safety
3. Selection of electrode& Consumables
4. Welding Discontinuities

Welders and Welding Supervisors from Heavy Fabrication, Nuclear, Power, Aeronautical and Space, Defense, Chemical, Petrochemical, Pharmaceuticals,Surface Transport, Large and Small Scale Private  Industries
